Athens Creek is an Americana roots band out of Southeast Michigan with a strong emphasis on male/female vocal harmony. Their versatile sound sways from soft and melodic to punchy and rhythmic. Created as a folk/rock/country cover band in 2014, they've adopted those sounds to create an explosively unique and original sound. Athens Creek has been defined as an excellent blend of Modern and Classic, and the perfect listening band for all ages.

 

Athens Creek released their first studio EP in August of 2020 titled "The Road Home" featuring original music produced at The Audio Cafe in Eastpointe, MI with engineer and producer Tom Rice. Along with five inspirational original songs, is the full studio version of "House of the Rising Sun//Amazing Grace" which was added due to the huge YouTube success of a live acoustic version of the same song reaching over 21+ Million views and counting. The band has humble roots and presents a strong message of hope and overcoming obstacles.

 

Taylor Walls and Nate Jones are the driving force behind Athens Creek and its success. 

Taylor Walls is the female vocalist of Athens Creek. Her love for music blossomed at a young age and becoming a “singer” was all she ever dreamt of. This passion for music, led her to lead worship at her childhood church, as well as pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Music Management from Madonna University. There she honed in on her musical skills of both piano and voice. In 2014 and 2015, Taylor caught the attention of the American Idol judges, resulting in her making it to Hollywood in back-to-back seasons of the hit television show. She has since been performing live throughout Michigan and across state lines. 

Nate Jones is the songwriter and male vocalist of Athens Creek. He has crafted his art for many years in the bar and restaurant scene and in backyard parties and private events. This has made Nate a personable performer and storyteller. He was raised in rural and suburban Michigan. He's a middle child of 12 in blended family. Early life for Jones was in a homeschooled home, raised as the son of a preacher. Jones is a self taught musician. At 7 years old he was songwriting and by 14 years old he knew that music would be a lifelong passion and a center point of his career goals. Jones writes and performs music regularly and his love for music reaches into many genres and time periods.
